Details of substance use

In order to assess her risk factors, you decide you need more history about her substance use.

Alcohol- 5-6 beer/day starting when she wakes up & keeping a buzz throughout the evening. 

Heroin- She injects heroin 4 times a day when she can afford it. She needs the 'rush' to get through her work. She shares needles with Tim & sometimes other people if she is desperate.  When she needs another shot she feels restless, goose bumps & aches all over.  She denies any drug related infections including abscesses or blood infections.

Ativan- she buys from a friend when she cannot get heroin. She uses several times a week & has been slowly increasing the amount she uses.
